Zoe, a 6 year old Greyhound presented to emergency overnight with a mysterious open wound to her foot which after being radiographed revealed a fracture to one of her toes. The team at Narre Warren saw her the next day for the first of many subsequent bandage changes.
Frequent visits to the vet can be overwhelming for many of our patients, often associating the occasion with feelings of fear and possible pain. Greyhounds are also notoriously shy creatures and having to attend the vet weekly would be daunting for most. Zoe handled her frequent consults like an absolute champion, she ended up visiting weekly for 6 weeks for a check up and a bandage change!
We aim to make every experience at our clinics as positive as possible, striving to make our patients feel comfortable and safe. This is particularly important for a patient like Zoe, and we are very pleased to report that her foot is healing beautifully and we expect her to make a full recovery and be zooming around like normal again!
