Sanka the 10-year-old mixed breed dog presented to us a few weeks ago with a very sore toe. Radiographs revealed that he had in fact broken his toe, ouch!
In an attempt to heal the broken bone (and avoid toe amputation), the toe required continuous bandaging. Sanka was prescribed pain relief, alongside strict rest for 6 weeks.
Sanka attended the clinic weekly for regular bandage changes and has recently undergone follow up radiographs. We’re very pleased to report a moderate amount of new bone growth was evident on the x-rays and the toe appears to be healing well.
