This month’s Bravery Award goes to Buster, the 13.5-year-old Labrador X who recently took a liking to nectarines!

Buster presented to the NWVC after his owner noticed he was feeling quite unwell. A thorough examination and set of x-rays were performed, leaving Dr. Jon highly suspicious of a foreign body blocking Buster’s gastrointestinal tract.

After discussion with Buster’s owner, it was decided that exploratory surgery was the best course of action, and surgery was scheduled. During the procedure, Dr. Jon successfully located the cause of the problem – a nectarine stone lodged within the small intestine!

Dr. Jon successfully removed the stone, and while Buster may be disappointed that a sneaky nectarine is strictly off the cards, we’re pleased to report that he is recovering well!
