Meet the adorable Brock, a 3-year-old Dogue De Bordeau. He paid us a visit last month after his owner’s noticed persistent black discharge from both eyes. His examination revealed bilateral Entropion – an abnormality of the eyelids whereby the eyelid rolls inwards, often causing the hair on the eyelids to rub against the cornea. This condition commonly results in pain and discomfort, corneal ulcers, perforation or development of pigment on the cornea which can interfere with vision.

Brock was admitted to hospital for corrective surgery. Dr. Jon performed an “eyelift” to help reverse the inward rolling of the eyelid.

Brock returned 14 days later for suture removal. We’re pleased to report both eyes are healing well!
